The Department of Physics in YSR Vivekananda Govt. Degree College was   started in June 2020 with the course B.Sc.(M.P.CS) Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science  in English Medium with an intake of 40 students.The Department has started with 2 sanctioned posts. The College is affiliated to Yogi Vemana University, YSR Kadapa district.  

 The Department of Physics is equipped with highly dedicated   and experienced faculty of about 20 years. The faculty members  have always endeavored to provide the best in terms of knowledge and skill. The subjects taught by teachers of this department are of prime importance for all-round growth and development of students. The Department follows the best teaching practices in the core area of Mechanics. Oscillations, Heat& Thermodynamics ,Optics,Electronicsand  Modern Physics with a motto of learner-centric teaching. The mission of the department is to create and disseminate knowledge and tools in intellectual areas at the interfaces between the physical sciences. The Department of Physics is actively participating to meet the requirements of  students by revising the syllabi from time to time regularly.The Department inculcate awareness on  Skill development courses like Electrical Appliances and Solar Energy
